Thank you for visiting our site! The Bouchie Lake Recreation Commission (BLRC) wants to share with you the incredible recreational opportunities offered in the Bouchie Lake area, these include the Hall and Grounds, Claymine Trails and the Bouchie/Milburn Community Park (aka. Pioneer Park).
The BLRC is responsible for managing the Hall, Grounds and Parks, located at the top of Bouchie Lake or “6 Mile” Hill, approximately 15 km west of the City of Quesnel.
The community known as “Bouchie Lake” is in Electoral “Area B” of the Cariboo Regional District (CRD). The City of Quesnel manages the North Cariboo Recreation and Parks function on behalf of the CRD.
The Quesnel Sub-Regional Recreation Services include:
* The Quesnel and District Twin Arenas;
* The Quesnel Arts and Recreation Centre;
* Community art, sport and general recreation programming;
* The Alex Fraser Park Agriplex;
* Pioneer Park;
* Bouchie Lake Recreation Commission programs and facilities;
* Parkland Community Association programs and facilities;
* Barlow Creek Recreation Commission programs and facilities.
Residents and visitors to the Bouchie Lake grounds, park or trail are offered many recreational opportunities; use of the equestrian arena, the outdoor ice rink and the ball field are a few. The Hall is capable of hosting up to 368 people, depending on the event, and is a popular location for large wedding receptions and dances. The Bouchie/Milburn Park, located across from the Bouchie Lake Elementary School, acts as a “gateway” for our community. The Claymine Trail System, located a short distance down the Blackwater Road, boasts a 1km low mobility accessible trail. There is also an accessible outhouse, an informational kiosk as well as an accessible picnic table to use while on the trail.
