At the final Volunteer Celebration Event on April 27, 2013, the community announced the creation of the Volunteer Appreciation Garden. The proposed site of this garden will be the existing garden / space located at the front entrance of the Bouchie Lake Hall. The intent will to have some landscaping done to further beautify and upgrade the site. The proposed garden will be designed with its main emphasis being a meeting, resting and visiting place for local residents and visitors using the Bouchie Lake Hall & Recreation Grounds. In designing the garden, the use of “FireSmart” plants with low water requirements will be a priority. Plants requiring low maintenance are desirable. The garden may also include (memorial) benches, paths, a gazebo / shelter, bird baths, planters, and ashtrays.
Watch here for more updates on how the gardening is developing. If you are interested in assisting with the planning of the garden and /or have any ideas, please let the BLRC know at 250.249.5508 or email@example.com
